define fear.

put a “define ______” in my ask to hear how they learned that concept

Fear…?

It’s that prickling that kind of crawls up your spine and makes you feel like you’re falling down too far and you can’t catch yourself. It’s that moment when you look at your hands and you wonder if it’s the last time you’ll see them with all the fingers attatched. It’s that long, long walk from the doorway to the throne, the trials in the high court, the memories of before.

It’s from the red, red eyes of princes, from the flick of a disdainful wrist of a love interest? No, she’s not something as juvenile as that—b-but. It’s from the noise Asahina makes when she laughs. It’s from whenever someone says Him and you just know the ‘h’ is capitalized.

Fear is when you were younger, and your mother told you not to climb the trees—I was kind of the weaker one, you know!—or else you’ll fall and hurt yourself, and fear is the fall, without catching yourself.

Fear is holding my father’s head in my bare hands, and fear is watching their lifeless bodies burned, like they…weren’t anything to begin with.

ready, aim, fire!! - enoshima-chan.

[ Another raid, another three hours of being towed along by Asahina, being looked upon as if he’s a petulant child. They say he’s disgusting, but he’s the disgusted one. How can they kill so easily? How can they just muder in cold blood? These people have families, memories, lives…and Cerberus Company just crushes them all. So he sneaks away when two of them begin arguing, and he begins to search on his own. A one-man liberation army.

It’s then he sees that familliar silhouette, those long red nails holding something up. A weapon? A piece of debris found on the ground? Either way, he steels himself up, and steps out into the open, facing this girl. ]
