pseudo-changes

naegi is now more irritable and less talkative. he’s not yet the complete martyr that he will be for the court, but his life hangs in the balance, and he’s beginning to see the err of his lying ways.

unfortunately, he is beginning to harbor huge grudges against everyone involved in his trial; ishimaru, for playing judge; maizono, for turning him in; and even chie, for ‘putting him there in the first place’. he sees himself at this stagnant point, this crossroads, where turning left means the empire and possible death, and turning right means freedom and certain death.

you can imagine which one he’ll choose.

personality traits

irritable; much, much colder to those around him; vindictive and callous–he does not much care what people think anymore; murderous; overwhelmingly benign, due to his salvation of the innocents who came begging at their door.

he has stopped helping these beggars. instead, he turns a blind eye. he pretends not to hear the rattling knocks on the back door, and if another of their flock hears them then he will not stop the bloodshed that follows.

he’s taken to holing himself up in his room and wandering the hallways. he rarely interacts with the other imperialists, unless prompted, and even then he’ll speak as little words as possible. he still has never killed a soul, but that will most definitely change.
